UNDERWIRES

The electro-pop band Underwires was founded by two twin brothers, Aurélien and Théophile.

They recorded their first album "Under Wires" in 2002 in Paris, using folk guitars and vintage analog synthesizers. They played in several venues in Paris and received good reviews from magazines such as Rock ‘N’ Folk, Rock Mag and les Inrocks.
After two years spent touring in the Paris region, Underwires released in 2004 their second album, "Wanton Thoughts", produced by the independent label Nova Express, this time using dirty and slightly root sounds.
Then, the twins moved to Berlin where they recorded their third album in 2006: In your room again. Several tracks were broadcast on French, Japanese and American radios and released on several “greatest hits” (CD issued by Les Inrocks, “Best of” issued by Fnac, etc.).
In 2006 in Berlin, Underwires played as support act for Sébastien Tellier in Roter Salon (Volksbühne) for the Francophonic Festival.
In early 2009, they gave a series of concert in France, as part of side project celebrating the representation of Philip Glass and Allen Ginsberg’s opera “Hydrogen Jukebox” in Angers and Nantes.
In July 2009, they play in Paris as part of a symposium celebrating the 50th anniversary of the publication of William S. Burroughs’ masterpiece, Naked Lunch.
Living between Berlin and Paris, they are currently working on their fourth album, The Downshifters, whose release is planned in 2009.
